I shoot with color slide film, using a medium format Contax camera for most of my images. The 60mm by 45mm transparencies this camera requires are over three times larger than those taken with a 35 mm camera. This enables me to print big enlargements that are sharp with excellent color reproduction of details. The photographs are scanned on a commercial scanner, which digitalizes them, and printed by the Giclee ink jet process.
They are presented on archival canvas stretched over wood stretcher bars identical to what a painter uses. This results in a non glare, richly textured image with the print carried around the sides. Glass and framing is neither required nor recommended, making these large works of art decidedly more affordable.
